What Index Ventures does

Index Ventures is a technology venture and growth investor with offices in Geneva, London, New York and San Francisco. The firm primarily invests in early-stage companies in Europe, Israel or the USA with the ambition to take their product or service to the global market.

Sectors of focus include financial services, enterprise infrastructure and applications, health technology, consumer and gaming, with Artificial Intelligence now permeating every domain. Seed investments are at the earliest stage pre-product and cheques typically range from US$3-10m, while Venture investments, typically raising Series A financings, range from US$10-30m. PIN committed to the latest vintage of both strategies in May 2026.

Why we invested

  • Consistent track record: Index has consistently delivered top-quartile returns across all mature fund vintages since 2005, with multiple fund-returning investments across both its venture and growth strategies.
  • Transatlantic reach: Index is one of the most active venture investors in Europe and its San Francisco and New York offices give it access to leading technology companies in the United States as well.
  • Long-standing relationship: PIN has been a primary investor with Index across multiple fund generations, and the May 2026 commitments continue that relationship across fund strategies.

Key drivers:

    • Consistent top-quartile track record: All mature Index growth and venture funds since 2005 have delivered top quartile returns, driven by fund returners delivering 50x+ multiples on invested capital such as Datadog, Adyen and Scale.AI in earlier vintages.
    • Wiz exit: The US$32bn Google acquisition of Wiz completed in March 2026 – with Index as the largest external shareholder – demonstrates the quality of returns that the manager’s primary funds can deliver and reinforces PIN’s conviction in the relationship.
    • Transatlantic network depth: Index’s presence across European technology hubs and its New York and San Francisco offices give it access to deals on both sides of the Atlantic.
    • Team continuity and depth: Index’s senior team has been highly stable, with partners averaging over fourteen years at the firm, giving confidence that the investment approach will remain consistent across fund generations.

Our partnership with Index Ventures

Pantheon’s primary relationship with Index spans multiple fund generations across both its growth equity and early stage fund strategies. The Wiz exit was delivered directly through PIN’s prior Index fund positions and reinforces the case for continued investment with Index as a core relationship manager.
